Logitech packs a lot of features, accessories and quality into this package. This is something that built-in webcams don’t have and one reason to take a look at this camera even if you already have a buil-in webcam on your notebook. Logitech’s RightLight technology improves image quality in low-light environments or when there’s strong backlighting. There are lots of fun things you can do with Fun Filters and Avatars (see video above), but one of the best features is RightLight. There’s also a stand to elevate the camera to face level and so users have more flexibility in where they position the camera. The photo of the crayons below is an example of the potential of this camera. Users can record high-def video for computer playback or capture 8MP (interpolated) still images. Logitech’s teamed up with Carl Zeiss to deliver a glass lens, capable of delivering 2MP images and 1.3 megapixel video. The most important part of any camera is the lens and webcams are no exception. I sat down with Stan Kwong of Logitech for a demo and was very impressed with what he showed me. Images are very sharp and clear, and Logitech’s software is fun and easy to use. The new QuickCam is capable of recording high-def (720P) video and has several premium features, that make it an excellent deal at $99.
